Governament of Hidalgo

Lic. Miguel Angel Osorio Chong, Consitutional Governor for the State of Hidalgo, was born in Pachuca, Hidalgo. He has a Law Degree from Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Hidalgo and was Secretary of the alumni association at this educational institution, as well as Secretary of Student Issues for FEUH and university advisor. Within Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI), he participated as a Delegate and Election Coordinator in various municipalities. He was Secretary of Electoral Action and President of the State Directive Committee, for then being elected as Federal Deputy. As public officer, he was Secretary of Government, Subsecretary of Government, Secretary of Social Development, Secretary of Regional Development for the Government of the State of Hidalgo and Secretary for the Municipal Presidency of Pachuca. In 2004 he was postulated by PRI as candidate for governor. On April 1 he became Governor for the term 2005-2011. He is married to Lawyer Laura Vargas with whom he has two children, Miguel and Laura.
