Accountant Ismael Alfredo Hernández Deras, Constitutional Governor for the State of Durango, was born on february 20, 1964, in the City of Durango. After graduating from Universidad Juarez del Estado de Durango, where was a student leader, he became State President for Frente Juvenil Revolucionario in Durango and simultaneously substitute Deputy at the Congress of Durango for the II Local Electoral District. From 1992 to 1994 he was State President for Partido Revolucionario Institucional (PRI). He was elected City Mayor for Durango in 1998 and then Senator for Durango, term concluding in 2006 but left inconcluded because he asked for permission to run for State Governor, a triumph that came on September 2004 by proposing an efficient and innovative government offering swift solutions to social requests, where society’s participation is capable of achieving a sustained growth and a full human and social development during his 2004-2010 term.
